As-Sami (السَّمِيْعُ) means The All-Hearing. It is name 26 in the well-known list of the 99 Names of Allah. As-Samīʿ hears every voice, in every language, at the same time, even the quietest whisper and what is only in the heart. No dua goes unheard.
The root and its meaning
As-Sami comes from the Arabic root س م ع (s-m-ʿ), which carries the sense of hearing.
Where it is in the Quran
Allah heard the woman who complained about her husband to the Prophet ﷺ, and Surah Al-Mujadilah opens with it.
Surah Al-Mujaadila 58:1
Qad sami'al laahu qawlal latee tujaadiluka fee zawjihaa wa tashtakeee ilal laahi wallaahu yasma'u tahaawurakumaa; innal laaha samee'um baseer
Certainly has Allah heard the speech of the one who argues with you, [O Muhammad], concerning her husband and directs her complaint to Allah. And Allah hears your dialogue; indeed, Allah is Hearing and Seeing.

Calling on Allah by this Name
Allah says: "And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them" (7:180). Begin your dua with يَا سَمِيْعُ (Yā Samīʿ) and ask for what fits its meaning. For example: "Yā Samīʿ, You hear me, so answer me."
A dua from the Quran
Hunaaalika da'aa Zakariyyaa Rabbahoo qaala Rabbi hab lee mil ladunka zurriyyatan taiyibatan innaka samee'ud du'aaa'
At that, Zechariah called upon his Lord, saying, "My Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication."
