Privacy Policy

AmalKit is run by Amariq LLC. We built it to need as little of your data as possible. This page explains what is collected when you use the site, and why.

What we do not collect

You do not need an account, and we never ask for your name, email or phone number to use a tool.
Your location, when you press "Use my location", is used only inside your browser to work out prayer times, the qibla or the Ramadan calendar. It is never sent to us or stored.
The numbers you type into the zakat, inheritance, qada and other calculators, and the will you draft, stay on your device. They are never uploaded.

What is saved on your device

Some tools remember your settings and progress in your browser's local storage, such as your city, Asr preference, tasbih counts, saved names and lesson progress. This stays on your device, we cannot see it, and you can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for amalkit.com.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit, which pages they use and how they found us, so we can improve the tools. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as the pages you view, your approximate location (country and city, from your IP address), your device and browser type, and how you arrived. We do not send Google any personal information you type into the tools.

For visitors in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area, analytics cookies are off by default, and Google measures those visits without storing cookies. You can also block Google Analytics with Google's opt-out browser add-on. Google's use of this data is described in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Advertising

AmalKit is free, and we plan to fund it with advertising. When ads are added, our advertising partners may use cookies to show and measure ads. We will update this page before that happens, and visitors in the UK and EEA will be asked for consent.

Services that load content

To work, some pages load content from other services, which receive your IP address and browser details as part of any web request:

Quran audio: EveryAyah and Quran.com.
Quran text and translations: AlQuran.cloud.
Maps on the qibla finder, only when you open the map: OpenStreetMap.
Gold, silver and currency prices for the zakat calculator are fetched by our own server from gold-api.com and Exchange Rate API, so your browser does not contact them.
Hosting: the site runs on Cloudflare, which processes requests to deliver and protect it.

Children

Many of our tools are used by families. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the tools do not ask for any.
