Guide
About juz 11, and how to read it.
Juz 11, also called para or sipara 11, runs from 9:93 to 11:5. The end of At-Tawbah, Surah Yunus, and the opening of Hud. It is known by its opening words, يَعْتَذِرُونَ (Yatadhirun). Its name comes from 9:94, where the 15-line mushaf used in South Asia starts this juz, 1 ayah after the Madinah mushaf start shown here.
Ayat in this juz with their own page on AmalKit: 10:94.
What a juz, hizb and quarter are
The Quran is divided into 30 parts of roughly equal length called juz (plural ajza), or para and sipara in Urdu and Bangla. The division is for reading, so that the whole Quran can be finished in a month, and it does not follow the surahs: a juz can start in the middle of one. Each juz has two hizb (60 in all), and each hizb has four quarters, which are marked in the margin of most mushafs.
Reading juz 11 in a day
At 21 pages, juz 11 fits into a day if you read about four pages after each of the five prayers. Use the hizb markers above as stopping points: each quarter is two to three pages. To listen while you read, use the Listen links in the table, which open the recitation tool at that surah and range.
