Perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not.

لَا تَخَافَآ ۖ إِنَّنِى مَعَكُمَآ أَسْمَعُ وَأَرَىٰ
Fear not. Indeed, I am with you both; I hear and I see.

وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ حَبْلِ ٱلْوَرِيدِ
We are closer to him than [his] jugular vein.

وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَرْضَىٰٓ
And your Lord is going to give you, and you will be satisfied.

Call upon Me; I will respond to you.

And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds.

وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِى عَنِّى فَإِنِّى قَرِيبٌ ۖ أُجِيبُ دَعْوَةَ ٱلدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ
When My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me - indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me.

Every quote on this page has a source you can check: the surah and ayah for the Quran, and the collection and number for each hadith. Many "Islamic quotes" shared online are sayings of scholars, or weak and invented reports, attributed to the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ warned: "Whoever lies about me deliberately, let him take his seat in the Fire" (Sahih al-Bukhari 110). So before sharing a quote as a hadith, check where it comes from.

- Quran Arabic is taken from the Uthmani text, never typed by hand, and the English is Sahih International.

- Hadith are from Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, or graded hasan in Jami at-Tirmidhi, and the grading is shown.
- Sayings of scholars are not mixed in with hadith.
