Guide
Peace sits at the centre of Islam: the word Islam shares its root with salam, peace; As-Salam is one of the names of Allah (59:23); the Muslim greeting is "as-salamu alaykum"; and Paradise is called the Home of Peace (10:25). These quotes gather what the Quran and the Prophet ﷺ said about peace, on three levels.
"Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured" (13:28). Inner peace, in the Quran, is not the absence of problems. It is sakinah, a calm Allah sends into the heart, often in the hardest moments, as at Hudaybiyah (48:4) and in the cave of the Hijrah (9:40). Ibn Taymiyyah, writing from prison, said his paradise was in his heart and no one could take it from him.
The Prophet ﷺ told us to spread salam, and said that making peace between people is better than voluntary fasting, prayer and charity. The Quran commands it between believers who quarrel (49:10) and between husband and wife (4:128), and tells the believers to accept peace when an enemy offers it (8:61).
In Paradise there is no idle talk, only "peace, peace" (56:26), and the greeting from Allah Himself is "Peace, a word from a Merciful Lord" (36:58).
When you say "as-salamu alaykum", you are praying for the other person: may peace be upon you. Allah tells us to answer a greeting with a better one or at least the same (4:86), which is why the reply is "wa alaykumus-salam", often with "wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh" added.
After every fard prayer, say the dua the Prophet ﷺ said: "Allahumma antas-salam wa minkas-salam, tabarakta ya dhal-jalali wal-ikram". You can learn it with the rest of the adhkar after salah, and find more in Quran verses about peace.

Questions
"Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured" (Quran 13:28), or the hadith "Spread the greeting of peace among you" (Sahih Muslim 54).
Islam means submission to Allah. It comes from the same Arabic root as salam, peace, and the scholars say peace is the fruit of that submission.
One of the names of Allah, listed in 59:23. It means the One free of every flaw, from whom all peace comes.
The Quran points to the remembrance of Allah (13:28). Keep the prayers, the morning and evening adhkar and dua, and the scholars add: leave sins, which unsettle the heart.
