Short answer
There is a well-known report that whoever reads Surah al-Waqiah every night will never be struck by poverty, but hadith scholars have graded it weak. You may read it nightly hoping for this blessing, as many righteous people did, but do not treat it as a guaranteed promise of the Prophet ﷺ or a replacement for work and tawakkul.
Reading Surah al-Waqiah is mustahabb like any surah, and acting on a weak hadith in matters of virtue is allowed with conditions. It must not be presented as an authentic saying or as a fixed means of wealth.
The four schools agree on this.
Explanation
The report. It is narrated from Abdullah ibn Mas'ud that the Prophet ﷺ said: whoever reads Surah al-Waqiah every night will never be afflicted by poverty. It is found in later collections such as al-Bayhaqi's Shu'ab al-Iman, not in the six main books, and its chain has narrators that the hadith critics found unreliable. So it is weak.
Can you still act on it? Most scholars allow acting on a weak hadith for virtues when it is not very weak, it falls under a sound general principle (here, the reward of reading the Quran), and you do not believe it is definitely from the Prophet ﷺ. Reading al-Waqiah at night is therefore a good practice. Ibn Mas'ud is reported to have told his daughters to read it each night.
What actually brings rizq. The Quran promises that whoever fears Allah, He makes a way out for him and provides from where he does not expect (65:2 to 3). Istighfar, keeping ties of kinship, gratitude and honest effort are all linked to provision in authentic texts. See the benefits of istighfar and is there a surah for rizq.
The surah itself describes the Day of Judgement and the three groups of people: the foremost, the companions of the right and the companions of the left. Reading it with understanding softens the heart and puts wealth in its place. Read Surah al-Waqiah with translation.
The evidence
Quran, Surah At-Talaaq 65:2-3
And when they have [nearly] fulfilled their term, either retain them according to acceptable terms or part with them according to acceptable terms. And bring to witness two just men from among you and establish the testimony for [the acceptance of] Allah. That is instructed to whoever should believe in Allah and the Last day. And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out And will provide for him from where he does not expect. And whoever relies upon Allah - then He is sufficient for him. Indeed, Allah will accomplish His purpose. Allah has already set for everything a [decreed] extent.
Taqwa and tawakkul are the Quran's promised means of provision.
